Human Activity and the Environment 2000

Statistics Canada conducts a census every five years that provides us with an updated national portrait. From the census, they generate hundreds of publications and hundreds of thousands of data sets which influences everything from government policy, to the location of schools and corner stores, to the investment patterns of the financial sector.
Synopsis: Human Activity and the Environment 2000 was one of Statistics Canada largest bilingual publications. Using Canadian census data, all manner of environmental topics are presented and supplemented by the true statistics in the form of tables and charts and maps. Over 450 Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (tables, charts, graphs), and maps were also included with the accompanying multimedia CD-ROM. This highly successful publication was later released in web format for private customers on the Statistics Canada website.
